Publisher: NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce, The Policy Institute, King’s College London

Year Published: 2020

Date Added: October 23, 2020

Resource Type: Research report

This report provides a summary of evidence on involving people with lived experience within public health, health and social care, and addictions services in a  way that contributes to the wider dialogue about gambling and gambling-related harm, as well as influencing public policy. The project involved a rapid scoping review of UK research and a workshop with people with lived experience of gambling-related harm. The report describes themes that emerged including building infrastructures and engagement methods (i.e., encouraging involvement, widening participation, respecting people with lived experience, etc.). The report also includes recommendations such as creating a national level infrastructure to facilitate the involvement of people with lived experience in the gambling sector.
