It succinctly summarizes a large amount of research, largely conducted in Australia, on the extent of gambling harm in Victoria, the costs of those harms, newer online and interactive gambling products, factors affecting particiaption, and how gambling ads are associated with harm especially for young people. The paper also outlines responsibilities of service providers in the online gambling environment, including around direct marketing, inducements, use of credit, data-informed intervention, staff training, and affordability testing.
