This report outlines a series of recommendations in advance of the government's review of the 2005 Gambling Act in Great Britain. It assesses some aspects of policy as it relates to gambling licences, gambling content, gambling affordability, gambling tax, and the regulatory framework for gambling, with a focus on implementing the same control measures to online gambling as exist for land-based gambling. It builds on other reports by the House of Lords Select Committee Inquiry, the National Audit Office, the Public Accounts Committee and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Gambling Related Harm. Overall, the report advocates for government departments working together, increased fairness in the market, and a culture of corporate and social responsibility among operators.
