This study examined links between recalled use of legal youth gambling products and gambling problems as an adult. The researchers recruited 1,057 adult UK gamblers to complete an online survey. The participants were between the ages of 18 and 40 years old and were all born in the UK. Results revealed that recalled use of five youth gambling products were linked to problem gambling in adults. The two most recalled gambling activities were coin push and crane grab machines. The least recalled activity was category D fruit machines. Overall, the more often participants recalled using these products, the higher was their risk of having gambling problems as an adult.
