The Millennium Cohort Study follows a sample of approximately 10,000 individuals born at the start of the 21st century. It charts the socio-economic and health status of the cohort. The seventh survey took place in 2018, when the cohort was seventeen years old. The dataset includes web-based and computer assisted interviews and questionnaires. Cohort members were interviewed on the following:

  • Family and home life
  • Income and employment
  • Education
  • Physical and mental health
  • Relationships with family
  • Personality and attitudes

Parents were interviewed on the following:

  • Ethnicity
  • Family situation
  • Cohort member's likelihood of going to university
  • Relationship with cohort member
  • Physical and mental health
  • Employment and income
  • Housing

The "Young Person Online (CAWI) Questionnaire" included gambling participation questions. It asks about placing bets at betting shops and other gambling behaviour.

Data was collected between January 2018 to April 2019 in the United Kingdom.
