This report summarizes responses by gambling operators to a Responsible Gambling Survey, initiated by the Gambling Supervision Commission on the Isle of Man. The survey aims to assess the effectiveness of operator responsible gambling measures to inform future public policy. The survey collected both quantitative data about interventions related to underage gambling and responsible gambling, and qualitative data on attitudes about the effectiveness of these interventions. The Commission received responses from 33 of the 35 operators the suvey was distributed to in 2023.Findings include:All operators have measures to prevent minors from registering for an account.Operators refused or cancelled registrations from 2,972 minors in 2023.All operators believed their tools to detect minors to be ‘effective’ or ‘very effective’ in preventing underage gambling.All operators have at least one form of limit setting available, either deposit, spending, or loss limits.2.5% of people who gamble with operators use limit setting.0.8% of of people who gamble with operators use self-exclusion.The total reported use of self-exclusion in 2023 was 21,999 people.Operators detected 5,134 attempts to gamble despite having self-excluded.
