This report evaluates Multi-Operator Self-Exclusion Schemes to assess their effectiveness. Since 2016, the Gambling Commission has required all land-based operators to take part in Multi-Operator Self-Exclusion Schemes. Multi-Operator Self-Exclusion Schemes allow customers to self-exclude from multiple operators with one request. Five Multi-Operator Self-Exclusion Schemes are evaluated.
The goals of this evaluation include:
- Determining levels of awareness and perceptions of the Schemes.
- Identify barriers to self-exclusion.
- Identify possible improvements.
Recommendations in the report include:
- Develop better methods to identify customers enrolled in self-exclusion.
- Develop improved staff training about Multi-Operator Self-Exclusion Schemes.
- Develop better promotion and awareness tools.
- Support other harm minimization tools.
