This report examines whether using lottery and scratch cards is related to problem gambling in young people. The report focuses on 16 to 24-year-olds in England and Scotland. The report also considers whether mental health and gambling behaviours explained the link between lottery and scratch cards and problem gambling. Samples were gathered from the 2012, 2015, and 2016 Gambling in England and Scotland Combined Data from the Health Survey for England and the Scottish Health Survey datasets. The report found a significant association between using scratch cards and gambling problems.
