This report explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the casino industry in Massachusetts. The report focuses on equity issues. Casino visits recovered after reopening but did not reach pre-pandemic levels by June 2021
The casino workforce experienced layoffs. Staffing levels are below pre-pandemic levels since reopening
Casino spending on goods and services from vendors fell and has no reached pre-pandemic levels
Gross gaming revenue and state tax collected on revenues has recovered
