Gambling patterns in young people are diverse. This study looked at gambling trajectories and related sources of influence during childhood and adolescence. Participants were adolescents aged 12 to 17 who participated in interviews or online communities. This study revealed the influences of parents and peers on adolescent gambling. Gambling was also reinforced through social rewards and normalized by advertising. There were differences in gambling trajectories across groups of adolescents with different levels of risk.
