Greo Evidence Insights is seeking a Research Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will work to support stakeholder-informed and evidence-based policies, programs, and practices within the health and well-being sectors. This is a competitively compensated, full-time, remote position.

Greo is an independent knowledge translation and exchange organization with over two decades of international experience generating, synthesizing, and mobilizing research into action across the health and wellbeing sectors. Greo helps organizations improve their strategies, policies, and practices by harnessing the power of evidence and stakeholder insights. Services we offer include sourcing and synthesizing evidence, creating knowledge and education products, facilitation and stakeholder engagement, data and knowledge management support, evaluation, and applied research. Greo also provides backbone support for larger scale multi-stakeholder initiatives which can include designing and managing funding calls and facilitating external reviews of proposed projects to ensure the highest standards of integrity. About this role 

Reporting to the Chief Research Officerthe primary responsibilities of this role include: 

  • Synthesizing evidence by applying systematic approaches and developing content for knowledge products such as research reviews.  

  • Providing support for literature searches, the inclusion and exclusion of peer-reviewed articles, extracting key information, and summarizing results into clear, concise information for diverse audiences.  

Required skills and work experience 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience with: 

  • Selecting, synthesizing, and critically appraising evidence to develop written content and embedding in technical reports and knowledge products. 

  • Developing written communications, with the ability to draft clear and engaging content and adjust tone for different audiences and purposes. 

  • Using digital and software applications to organize evidence (i.e., systematic review management tool, reference manager), analyze data (i.e., statistical analysis software), and to collaborate with internal and external project teams (i.e., collaboration and project management applications). 

  • Taking initiative and working effectively on a multi-disciplinary team, co-writing and editing with multiple team members, and working both collaboratively and independently across synchronous and asynchronous channels. 

  • Being flexible and capable of changing focus based on emerging priorities, take initiative, demonstrating strong time management and organizational skills, and contributing meaningfully to several concurrent projects at various stages and varying in scope. 

  • Working on population health approaches to complex health and wellbeing issues, behavioural addictions, regulated activities (e.g., gambling, cannabis), mental health, digital wellbeing, etc. 

  • Consulting various stakeholders, including interviewing, organizing, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on consultation findings. 

  • Providing outreach, coordination, and facilitation support for engagements, including working collaboratively with key internal and external leaders, partners, vendors, and clients. 

  • Identifying and deploying relevant knowledge mobilization methods as well as a commitment to remaining current with best practices in engagement, knowledge translation, and mobilization. 

Position Requirements 

  • Postgraduate degree (master’s degree or PhD) or equivalent in a relevant field, including but not limited to public health, health sciences, sociology, psychology, economics, public policy, or recreation and leisure. 

  • Desire to work in a non-profit environment and/or interest in gambling, gaming, technology use, mental health, public health, and/or public policy. 

  • This position is ‘English essential.’ Additional languages (particularly French) will be considered an asset. 

  • This position is fully remote (within Canada) and requires travel for all team meetings approximately three times annually. 

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams and Groups.

What We Are Looking for in Board Members

  • Experience in accounting, finance, business and/or government and/or international relations
  • Strong belief in the value of knowledge mobilization as it relates to health and well-being
  • Knowledge of:
  • regulated areas such as betting and gambling, cannabis, and/or financial sectors
  • areas such as gaming, esports, cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence
  • health-related areas such as wellbeing, mental health, public health, and/or determinants of health
  • Willingness to prepare for and attend approximately five Board meetings per year and participate in at least one committee
  • Greo is based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Meetings are typically virtual
