We are seeking research that will lead to a better understanding of the relationship between gambling and suicide. Specifically, research that will contribute to a better understanding of how individuals experience gambling-related suicidality; the key patterns; contributory and mitigating factors that are specific to gambling-related suicide or suicidal ideation; the role that gambling products (or gambling promotion/advertising), the role the gambling environment and practices may have in gambling-related suicide/ideation; and warning signs and potential critical points of intervention (drawn from the report by Gambling With Lives). Grants will be funded from a £600,000 funding envelope over a two-year term. The number of grants awarded will depend on the requested budgets and decisions of the peer review committee.
