The researchers investigated casino employees’ experiences with a responsible gambling program called GameSense. Study participants were 258 employees of Plainridge Park Casino. They completed a survey. The results showed that many employees had casual conversations with GameSense Advisors. Few talked to Advisors about problem or responsible gambling. Less than half of employees knew they could use the GameSense program themselves. Many employees thought that GameSense had potential positive impacts. Employees in security and surveillance were more likely to talk with Advisors and to refer people to GameSense than other employees. Employees in food/beverage/retail were the least likely to have done so. These findings suggest a need to improve casino employees’ understanding about and engagement with the GameSense program.
