The charity casino impact study is designed to monitor the social and economic effects of the new charity casino and slot machines in Lambton County, Ont. This study tracked data on a wide range of socio-economic conditions in the community, obtained opinion and impressions from a wide range of community members, and facilitated community discussions of the opportunities and challenges created by the new charity casino. In addition, the study examined the effects of the introduction of 450 slot machines into Hiawatha Horse Park in Sarnia, which is adjacent to the casino site.
