The charity casino impact study is designed to monitor the social and economic effects of the new charity casino in the communites of Algoma District, Brant County, and Lambtom County. This study tracked data on a wide range of socio-economic conditions in the community, obtained opinion and impressions from a wide range of community members, and facilitated communities discussions of the opportunities and challenges created by the new charity casinos. The basic design of the study was a comparison over time of the trends in social and economic factors in the community before and after the arrival of the new gaming opportunities embodied in the new charity casinos and slot machines.
