Minority groups in Great Britain experience more harm from gambling. Yet, there is little research why this is the case. This literature review considers why minority groups experience more gambling-related harms. These factors include experiences of racisms, cultural and linguistic barriers, and location. The review found that structural racism, inequality, and discrimination were central.
Suggestions for future research include:
- Consult minority groups when conducting research.
- Use the preferred languages of groups and individuals during studies.
- Create community-specific resources on gambling harms.
