Journal: Frontiers in Psychology

Year Published: 2019

Date Added: November 26, 2019

The findings suggest that gambling disorder (GD) was more severe in people with impaired emotion regulation (ER) and in younger people. However, ER impairments were higher in men and older people. There were no differences in ER impairments based on preferred gambling type (strategic versus non-strategic gambling). Prevention and intervention programs could consider different ER impairments in patients seeking treatment for GD.
