The researchers evaluated how useful a video tutorial was at reducing gambling problems among people who started gambling again after their self-exclusion period ended. The experimental group watched the video tutorial before they could start gambling again. The control group started gambling again in the year before the video tutorial was in use. They received information about gambling responsibly. All participants completed a follow-up survey at 6 and 12 months after they started gambling again. The results showed that gambling problems decreased for both groups when self-excluding. This decrease was maintained at 6 and 12 months afterwards. The video tutorial had no impact on the severity of participants’ gambling problems, how often they gambled, and their desire to gamble. It also did not improve their gambling knowledge.
