This report focuses on the needs and opportunities to use digital tools to support people who gamble. It outlines gaps around digital supports. This can include prioritizing positive design features during creation and the need for broad and tailored tools. The report describes current gambling digital tools for players at different risk levels. This includes tools for low, moderate, and high-risk players (i.e., primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of prevention). The research includes a literature, environmental scan, tool assessments, and stakeholder consultations. The report discusses next steps for digital support tools for people who gamble. These include:
- Increase understanding and develop tools for people at lower risk using evidence-informed approaches
- Combine tools for higher risk players with other gambling and/or mental health tools
- Frame tools as relevant to target groups
- Create more diverse tools (e.g., for diverse audiences, using diverse perspectives)
- Communicate with players earlier in the player experience about tools
- Develop a full player view to support holistic and exact tool support
