This survey examined the opinions and behaviours of Finns aged 15 to 74 regarding gambling. Commissioned and funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, the dataset covers themes such as gambling participation, attitudes toward gambling and advertising, gambling-related harm, digital gaming, and overall health and well-being.
Respondents were asked about their gambling activities, spending, reasons for gambling, and use of gambling management tools. Additional questions explored experiences of gambling harm—both personal and among close relatives—as well as exposure to underage gambling. The survey also included questions on digital gaming habits, potential gaming-related problems, and health indicators such as general health, mood, loneliness, and alcohol consumption.
Measures used in the study included the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI), Short Gambling Harm Screen (SGHS-10, SGHS-18), Attitudes Towards Gambling Scale (ATGS-8), Mental Health Inventory (MHI-5), Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT-C), and Gaming Addiction Scale (GAS-7). Background variables included gender, age, marital status, education, income, employment status, and region.
