Researchers from many different disciplines study gambling harms. However, the best way to reduce harm from gambling is still not clear. This article reviews the current research on gambling and summarizes the suggested solutions for preventing and reducing harm from gambling. It also notes who most studies suggest is responsible for implementing these solutions.

The authors reviewed 1292 relevant studies. Most of the studies suggested creating educational and awareness programs to reduce harm from gambling. They also suggested further restrictions on gambling advertising. The studies also considered health services and policy makers to be the most responsible for reducing harm from gambling.
