The Manitoba Sports Bettor Survey surveyed 500 adult Manitobans who bet on sports in the past 12 months on their betting behaviours, knowledge and use of lower-risk strategies. Between March and April 2024, Prairie Research Associates (PRA), on behalf of the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA) surveyed 379 respondents through an online panel and 121 through random-digit dialing. The aim of this survey was to develop a better understanding of sports bettors in Manitoba, including demographic characteristics, betting behaviours (e.g., frequency, amount, motivators), belief in misconceptions related to sports gambling and use of responsible gambling tools. Additional information on sampling, variables, and the survey questionnaire can be found in the accompanying summary report and codebook.
