Author(s): Livingstone, Charles ; Rintoul, Angela

Journal: Public Health

Year Published: 2020

Date Added: November 17, 2020

In this article, the authors argue that responsible gambling (RG) programs are not effective for preventing and minimizing gambling harms. They present a critique of current RG programs and explain that a public health approach would be much more useful. The authors suggest using evidence from public health activities and gambling policy research with a public health focus. They also suggest learning from the experiences of alcohol policy and tobacco control.
