Journal: Psychology of Addictive Behaviors

Year Published: 2019

Date Added: November 24, 2019

This study examined the roles of positive resources and negative experiences in the recovery from gambling disorder. People with more stressful life events, anxiety, and depression had less improvement in their symptoms. People with greater recovery capital and spirituality improved more. The positive resources might have a stronger effect on the recovery process than the negative experiences. These findings suggest treatment providers could include a positive psychology approach in gambling disorder treatment programs.
