This report outlines the Gambling Commission's research conducted on consumer trust in the gambling industry. The purpose was to understand what drives consumer trust in the gambling industry, and to identify focus areas to ensure that the gambling industry is fair, transparent, and open. The research focused on the development of a question on consumer trust for incorporation into the Gambling Survey for Great Britain. Question development involved a scoping phase, the development of trust statements, piloting of the statements, and validation of the statements. The next stage will further determine the trust statements' ability to accurately and consistently provide the basis for future reporting.
