This research report presents the findings from an audit of the safer gambling aspects of five gambling websites in Great Britain. Six participants completed a series of tasks focused on finding safer gambling information and setting up time and money limit setting tools. Finding include:Safer gambling information was hard to find on some home pages. Promotions were much more prominent.Safer gambling pages included a lot of information. However, this was often repetitive, unorganized, and unengaging.Variations in the naming of tools prevented some people from identifying the tool they sought, but once identified, people found that the setting up the tool was easy.Default limits were considered by many as being too high.Recommendations include:The Gambling Commission explore whether regulations are being interpreted in a way that results in intended outcomes, to improve consistency of the design and naming of tools.Operators simplify finding safer gambling information and using tools. People who gamble locate and set up safer gambling tools early with operators and also consider additional external tools (e.g., screen time limits, bank gambling blocks, etc.).
