Gambling industry is expanding in many countries, including Australia, Canada, Macau, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The impacts of gambling are important for policy decisions. Gambling impacts usually fall into two categories: economic and social. Economic impacts include employment and wages, tax revenues, benefits to consumers, and economic development. Social impacts usually consist of negative effects related to gambling disorder. These include bankruptcy, crime, personal health issues, and family problems.
