This data dashboard presents the findings of the third National Survey on Gambling Attitudes and Gambling Experiences (NGAGE 3.0) conducted early in 2024. The survey was commissioned by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) in the United States, and conducted by Ipsos, a market research and public opinion polling company. The survey was designed to assess gambling behaviour and attitudes before and after the legalization of sports betting in many U.S. states. The survey was also designed to identfy changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic as opposed to longer term trends. The survey was not designed to formally assess the prevalence of gambling participation or problem gambling. The results from two previous surveys were published in 2018 and 2021.
Results of the 2024 survey are presented in detail in this dashboard, with results provided in chart form for each question. Questions can be filtered to refine results shown by state, sex, or age group. The aim is to increase awareness around gambling, and use the data to identify needs for problem gambling prevention programs and to promote safer gambling.
