Problematic gambling behaviour and the experience of gambling harms may be related to unemployment, housing instability, homelessness, and poverty,1,2 all factors that intersect with financial insecurity. The relationship between gambling harm and financial insecurity will become increasingly relevant given the significant negative financial impact COVID-19 is expected to have on individuals and businesses.3,4 These impacts may include increased rates of personal and business financial hardship, bankruptcy, and unemployment.5
