Research suggests that in-person treatment for individuals experiencing gambling harm is more helpful than other forms of treatment.1 As management of the COVID-19 pandemic requires physical distancing and the closure of many in-person services, people may have less access to the physical treatment and support resources they require or have previously relied upon.2,3 Instead, gamblers, affected others, and service providers may need to shift to online and remote treatment options.
We have curated recent evidence that may help our stakeholders make informed decisions regarding treatment and support for gambling harms during COVID-19.
